Carol J. Patrie PhD

I am passionate about interpreting and teaching interpreting. My innate curiosity and love of teaching and research drives me to discover what kinds of instructional materials really help students become employment-ready, and which materials can support working interpreters in keeping their skills at optimal levels. Also, interpreter educators are dear to my heart and I am eager to encourage them in their important work by offering these instructional materials.

The Effective Interpreting Series

The Effective Interpreting Series can be used as part of a formal curriculum, as is currently the case in many Interpreter Education Programs nationwide. The series can also be used independently to earn CEUs for Certification Maintenance.

Fingerspelled Word Recognition Through RSVP

Carol J. Patrie and Robert E. Johnson spent over 20 years researching and developing this one-of-a-kind program. RSVP leads you through the theory behind fingerspelling, provides you with abundant practice, and rewards you with improved recognition of fingerspelled words.

Interpreting in Professional Settings

Working interpreters can benefit from The Interpreting in Professional Settings Series to sharpen their skills and earn CEUs. Teachers will welcome these examples to discuss with their students.
